Directions to Pentagon Sailing Club Venues

During the sailing season (generally April through October, weather permitting) our River activities and basic sailing classes are held at the Capitol Cove Marina on Bolling AFB. To reach Capitol Cove Marina:

FROM WASHINGTON AND POINTS NORTH: Take I-395 North, across the Potomac River, using the center lanes. Continue on 295 south to exit 2. Take South Capitol St south, past Bolling AFB Main Gate to the South Gate. Non-DoD affiliated Members will have to check in at the Visitor's Center. Then follow Chappie James Blvd approximately .4 mi, past McGuire Blvd and take a left on Arnold Ave SW. The marina is two blocks on the left.

FROM THE BELTWAY AND POINTS SOUTH: Take I-295 North (first exit from the Woodrow Wilson Bridge on Maryland side - bear right after exit). Take exit 1, towards Naval Research Laboratory. Take a left on Overlook Ave into Bolling AFB's South Gate. Follow the directions from this point as above.

BEATLEY LIBRARY, 5005 Duke Street, Alexandria, VA  22304, Tel: 703-519-5900.  See location map below and click here for information on the library:  During the non-sailing season (generally October through April), monthly membership meetings and Winter Training Program classes are often held at Libraries in Alexandria.  Take Exit 3 from I-395 to Duke Street and drive East about 1.5 miles to get to the library on the left.

McGINTY'S PUBLIC HOUSE, 3650 South Glebe Road, Suite 170, Arlington, VA 22202:  McGinty's Public House is the location for PSC monthly membership meetings.

From Washington DC
Take I-395 S (Crossing into Virginia). 
Merge onto US-1 S/Jefferson Davis Hwy via Exit 8C toward Pentagon City/Crystal City/Alexandria
Turn left onto VA-120 E/S Glebe Rd.
Take a right onto Market Square.
McGinty's is on the left.

From Maryland
Merge onto US-50 W toward I-97 N/Washington/Baltimore (Crossing into District of Columbia). 
Take I-395 S toward Tunnel (Crossing into Virginia)
Merge onto US-1 S/Jefferson Davis Hwy via Exit 8C toward Pentagon City/Crystal City/Alexandria
Turn left onto VA-120 E/S Glebe Rd.
Take a right onto Market Square.
McGinty's is on the left.

From Virginia
Take I-95 N toward Washington. 
Keep right via Exit 170A-B toward Washington/I-495/Tysons Corner
Merge onto I-395 N via Exit 170A on the left toward Washington 
Merge onto VA-120 E/S Glebe Rd via Exit 7A
Take a right onto Market Square.
McGinty's is on the left.

Metro
The Blue Line towards Franconia stops at Crystal City Metro Station. From the station, McGinty's is just a short walk or bus ride away.

To walk, go south on S Clark Street toward 20th street S.
Turn right onto 20th street S.
Turn left onto US-1 SUS-1 S/Jefferson Davis Hwy
Turn left onto VA-120 E/S Glebe Rd.
Take a right onto Market Square.
McGinty's is on the left.

Or

Take Bus number 9S from Crystal City Metro to Jefferson Hwy/S. Glebe Road.
Turn left onto S Glebe Rd.
Take a right onto Market Square.
McGinty's is on the left.

* NB. This bus journey takes 2 minutes.

Parking
Parking is free in the lower level of Market Square. Follow the signs for Harris Teeter parking and then take the elevator to the ground floor. McGinty's is just adjacent on the square.

FURNARI HALL CONFERENCE ROOM: Some PSC classes may be held in the conference room on the second floor of Furnari Hall, Anacostia Annex. (see location maps) FROM THE BELTWAY OR NORTHERN VIRGINIA: Follow the above directions to the Main Gate of Naval Station Anacostia and onto Defense Blvd.  Proceed on Defense Blvd as if going to the marina. Proceed past the White House Communications Agency on the left.  A little further on you will see a large red brick building on the right.  That is Furnari Hall.  Park to the right of the building and when you enter ask the desk person for the conference room.  FROM BOLLING AIR FORCE BASE: Proceed as above on Defense Blvd past the Marine Corps helicopter field (on left) until you reach the large red brick building (Furnari Hall) on the left.  Park to the right of the building and when you enter ask the desk person for the conference room.

FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER AT BOLLING AIR FORCE BASE:  Some PSC classes may be held in the Family Support Center at Bolling AFB. The Family Support Center is located at 118 Brookley Avenue (Building 13). (see Bolling map)  FROM THE MAIN GATE OF BOLLING AIR FORCE BASE.  If you enter through the Main Gate you will be on McDill Blvd.  Drive straight ahead until you reach the second signal light and turn left onto Brookley Ave.  Drive ahead about 0.1 mile to Building 13 on the left.  The North side of Building 13 is marked "THRIFT SHOP" and "COMMERCIAL TRAVEL".  Park in the lot on the right side of Brookley Ave across the street from the Family Support Center.  FROM THE VISITOR'S (SOUTH) GATE OF BOLLING AIR FORCE BASE.  If you enter through the Visitor's or South Gate you will be on Chappie James Blvd.  Follow Chappie James Blvd. until you reach McDill Blvd (which is at a stop light) and turn right.  Drive straight ahead to the first signal light and turn right onto Brookley Ave.  Drive ahead about 0.1 mile to Building 13 on the left.  The North side of Building 13 is marked "THRIFT SHOP" and "COMMERCIAL TRAVEL".  Park in the lot on the right side of Brookley Ave across the street from the Family Support Center.  FROM THE NAVY GATE OF ANACOSTIA ANNEX.  If you enter through the Navy (Anacostia Annex) Gate you will be on Defense Blvd.  Follow Defense Blvd. around until it turns into Chappie James Blvd at the stop sign near the DIA building.  Continue ahead on Chappie James Blvd. until you reach McDill Blvd at the stop light and turn left.  Drive straight ahead to the first signal light and turn right onto Brookley Ave.  Drive ahead about 0.1 mile to Building 13 on the left.  The North side of Building 13 is marked "THRIFT SHOP" and "COMMERCIAL TRAVEL".  Park in the lot on the right side of Brookley Ave across the street from the Family Support Center. 

NAVAL & MARINE CORPS RESERVE CENTER: Some PSC classes may be given in the Naval & Marine Corps Reserve Center, Building 351, Anacostia Annex. Occasionally it is also used as an alternate PSC meeting location when other locations are not available. FROM THE BELTWAY OR NORTHERN VIRGINIA: Follow the above directions to the Main Gate of the Anacostia Annex and onto Defense Blvd. Proceed on Defense Blvd as if going to the marina. Drive past Wick Drive (on the right) and take the next left onto Thomas Road. Make another left into the ground level of the the first parking garage [PARK-B].   Park in the garage and walk North across the driveway and into the Reserve Center. Class and meeting rooms are located on the second floor. FROM BOLLING AIR FORCE BASE: Proceed as above on Defense Blvd past the Marine Corps helicopter field (on left). Turn right off Defense Blvd. onto Thomas Road just before you get to the parking garage on the right. Turn left into ground level of the the first parking garage [PARK-B].   Park in the garage, and proceed as above to the class and meeting rooms on the second floor.
